Good Morning

Welcome to the second edition of your FID (Financial Independence & Dignity) email, which is designed is to give you access to the best articles that we feel, will give you some comprehensive food for thought around your financial life and plan.

As many of you who have come on board as clients of Fortress Financial Planning know, there are a small number of financial levers that you can affect that will ultimately lead to your financial independence and dignity.

  • Start to save or save more

  • Spend less

  • Invest appropriately with your goals in mind

  • Protect your family against the unforeseen

The idea behind this mail is that it should be easy to read & help to frame your thought process & habits, when it comes to your financial future. We fully believe that in conjunction with working with a financial planner, that this will allow you to get closer to that point of Financial Independence & Dignity every day.

So this month we have been reading/listening too;

  • 10 Things Investors Can Expect in 20 [3 minutes]. I know we are a month in. But already some of the points made here have come to pass.

  • Active investors take more risk for less rewards [3 minutes]. How risky is your portfolio? How are your funds allocated and to whom. But more importantly why. Its worth knowing the answers to this question.

  • How will you measure your life [18 minutes]. Written in the Harvard Business Review in 2010. This looks at having a plan in life, to ensure we do not just sail off without a rudder and get buffeted in the very rough seas of life. In my experience, a successful financial plan works hand in hand with a life plan.

  • The Missing Cryptoqueen [8 Episodes] While this technically isn't a read, it still merits inclusion. This BBC Podcast follows the story of Dr Ruja Ignatova who persuaded millions to join her financial revolution. Then she disappeared. With £4bn of their money! This is worth a listen on your commute.

  • What is Evidence Based Investing. We put together this ebook to help our clients learn more about how we think about investing in DLOC. We now wish to share this with our wider circle. So please feel free to have a read.

We would be delighted if you wanted to share this with family, friends or colleagues. Also we know that this might not be for you & if not then no problem, just unsubscribe below. You know where we are if you ever want a coffee and chat on us.
